There's also something about the instant gratification and long-term grind of the game that fits well with the Switch's instant-on, instant-off proposition. On top of that, Blizzard emphasized local multiplayer in its original Xbox 360 and PS3 ports, and the Switch is arguably the best local multiplayer machine on the market. Not only is it an older game that's nonetheless still under active development, it's already both to last-gen and current-gen consoles: there's no reason to think that the Switch's hardware wouldn't be able to handle the game. It helps that Diablo 3 is a natural fit for the Switch. But the video game world is full of strange tweets apropos of nothing. It is a very strange tweet to send apropos of nothing, particularly with that constant, aggressive switching. But there's nothing here that doesn't leave the door open for future announcements, even if anything concrete feels like it would be a long way off. That statement sounds like a denial, at least for now.
